Duquette Strength Trainer Profile: Annika Hodgson

Annika Hodgson is the Head Therapist of Duquette Strength’s clinical division in Langley, BC.   In addition to being a Registered Kinesiologist and certified Pilates instructor, she is an elite personal trainer who has completed all four levels of Duquette Strength’s Professional Development Program, successfully bridging the gap between theory and practice.  She is also a Certified Sports Nutrition Advisor with the Cory Holly Institute, one of the most highly revered certifying boards for sports nutrition in North America.

Her designated areas of specialization are in: therapeutic massage, myofascial trigger point therapy, active rehabilitation, Pilates, The Postural Reprogramming System, core stabilization training, therapeutic stretching sports nutrition and lifestyle consulting.  She is equally apt at introducing beginners to fitness, as she is in training serious competition athletes.  She is a role model for many top young female athletes, educating them on the necessity of creating a balanced, personalized approach to training and nutrition to maximize optimal performance.

Supporting her dense professional resumé, is her athletic experience as both a national level gymnast and varsity track and field athlete.  As a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, Annika was led by some of the top coaches in her sport, specializing in the 60-m hurdles and the pole vault under Lyle Sanderson and Rick and Suzanne Petrucha.  Her diverse competitive history isn't just limited to athletics, however, as Annika also possesses a multidisciplinary dance background in Advanced Jazz and Lyrical, with additional training in Ballet, Irish, and Highland forms.  On top of her already impressive dance and athletic background, she is also a classically trained singer and an experienced fitness model.
